Henrico County will open warming centers at the Fairfield Area Library and Libbie Mill Library on Tuesday, Jan. 27. The warming centers will be available for community members from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. No library services will be provided.
Fairfield Area Library is located at 1401 N. Laburnum Ave.; Libbie Mill Library is at 2100 Libbie Lake E. St.
All other county facilities will be closed Tuesday due to impacts from the winter storm.
Individuals and families are welcome to visit the warming centers to escape from the cold or recharge a device. Visitors are welcome to bring personal devices and entertainment items such as phones, tablets and board games. Visitors also may bring water bottles and snacks. Refreshments will not be provided.
The warming centers will be based in large meeting rooms at the two libraries, and visitors will have access to restrooms. Standard library services such as computers, printing, book checkouts and study rooms will not be available. The warming centers will be staffed by Henrico County Security officers.
