County-Wide Pedestrian Signal Improvements

The County of Henrico will be constructing accommodations to increase pedestrian access and connectivity. The following improvements will be constructed, including:  ​​Pedestrian Hybrid Beacons (PHB) at different locations throughout the County, including, but not limited to, intersections at Pump Road and Old Prescott Road, Pump Road and Carisbrook Drive, and Twin Hickory Road and Hickory Bend Road.  ​How it works: https://www.youtube.com/embed/eKQOjt3p5JA   ​

Estimated Schedules:

Pump Road and Old Prescott Road                              Design began 2023. Right-of-way acquisition began Jun- 2024.  Utility relocation is anticipated 3rd Quarter, 2024.  Advertisement for construction is not anticipated.  Construction is anticipated 2nd Quarter, 2025.

Twin Hickory Road and Hickory Bend Drive                            

• Design began Jan- 2023.
• Right-of-way acquisition began August- 2024.
• Utility relocation is anticipated 3rd Quarter, 2024.
• Advertisement for construction is not anticipated.
• Construction is anticipated 2nd Quarter, 2025.

Pump Road and Carisbrook Drive                                               

• Design is anticipated to begin August- 2024 
• Right of way acquisition is anticipated 3rd Quarter, 2025. 
• Utility relation is anticipated 3rd Quarter, 2025. 
• Advertisement for construction is not anticipated. 
• Construction is anticipated 1st quarter, 2026.
