Project Description
The County of Henrico will be constructing the following improvements:
- Approximately 1,600 linear feet of new sidewalk along the south side of Gay Avenue beginning 800 linear feet west of Laburnum Avenue where existing sidewalk terminates to Millers Lane.
- Approximately 130 linear feet of sidewalk will be constructed along the east side of Millers Lane south of Gay Avenue.
- Construction of curb and gutter and storm sewer installation.
- Construction of a westbound left turn lane on Gay Avenue at Millers Lane.
- Construction of a northbound right turn lane on Millers Lan at Gay Avenue.
Estimated Schedule
- Design began February 2017.
- Right-of-way acquisition completed April 2021.
- Utility relocation completed April 2021.
- Advertised for Construction May 2021.
- Construction started September 2021.
- Project completion is anticipated July 2022.
Progress to Date
- A citizen information meeting was held August 2017.
