Project Description
The County of Henrico will retrofit the Lake Overton facility to a wet pond facility that will provide water quality improvements for the community. Included in this retrofit are dam safety improvements to the embankment. Future improvements include a trail connection to the Three Lakes Park trail system. The following improvements will be constructed, including:
- A sediment forebay
- Shoreline erosion protection
- Aquatic benches
- Aeration fountain
- Wooden retaining wall
- New principal and auxiliary spillway
- Dam embankment repairs
- Forest mitigation plantings
Estimated Schedule: (Month Year)
- Design is completed.
- Right-of-way acquisition is completed.
- Advertisement for construction is completed.
- Utility coordination is anticipated to be completed in early May 2024
- Construction is anticipated to begin May 2024
Progress to Date
- Tree felling occurred between March 18th and March 29th.
