Lakeside Avenue Bike and Pedestrian Improvements

Magisterial District:   Fairfield  

The County of Henrico will be constructing improvements along Lakeside Avenue from Brook Road to Fairway Avenue to improve safety and increase pedestrian access and connectivity. The following improvements will be constructed, including:

• ​​Traffic calming measures
• ​​​10-foot shared-use path on north side of road
• ​​​5-foot sidewalk on south side of road

Estimated Schedule:

• ​​Design is underway. ​​
• ​​​​Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated to begin ​2nd Quarter, 2026​.
• ​​Utility relocation is anticipated to begin ​2027​.
• ​​Advertisement for construction is anticipated to begin ​2028​.
• ​​Construction is anticipated to begin ​2029.

A Public Hearing was held on February 12, 2026 at the Belmont Recreation Center from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM.  Materials from the meeting can be found in the Documents section below.
