The County of Henrico will be constructing accommodations to increase pedestrian access and connectivity. The following improvements will be constructed Monument Avenue from Bremo Road to Treboy Avenue, including:

  • ​​Approximately 2,200 linear feet of new sidewalk along the southern side of Monument Avenue from Bremo Road to Treboy Avenue
  • ​Associated ADA ramps
  • ​Upgrades to transit stop within project limits
  • ​Pedestrian signals and crossings.

Estimated Schedule:

  • Design ​​is underway.
  • Right-of-way acquisition is underway​.
  • Utility relocation is complete​.
  • Advertisement for construction is anticipated to begin 4th Quarter, 2026.
  • Construction is anticipated to begin in ​2027.

Progress to Date

  • A Public Hearing was held on October 9, 2024 at Henrico Rec & Parks, 6800 Staples Mill Rd from 5:30-7 PM.
