Nuckols Trail, Phase 2

Magisterial District:   Brookland  

The County of Henrico will be constructing accommodations to increase pedestrian access and connectivity. The following improvements will be constructed, including:

• A new, 12-foot-wide multi-use trail that is approximately 1 mile in length that includes a pedestrian bridge over the Meredith Branch tributary. 
• This segment will begin at Nuckols Trail, Phase 1 at Broad Meadows Road and terminate at Francistown Road.
• Approximately 0.4 miles of the trail will be on existing Nuckols Road while 0.6 miles will follow the existing alignment off road.

Estimated Schedule:

• Design is underway.
• Right-of-way acquisition is not anticipated.
• Utility relocation is anticipated to begin in 2027.
• Advertisement for construction is anticipated for 2030.
• Construction is anticipated to begin in 2031.
