Due to resident concerns with speeding and safety within the project area, several improvements are being considered.
The roundabout is part of a larger project to enhance safety, access, and connectivity in the area. Other improvements remain under design and include:

Progress to Date
April 2025: Roundabout construction is anticipated to be completed by the second week of April with new striping on the roadway. Engineering work will continue for the remaining improvements in the area.
March 2025: Roundabout construction is anticipated to be completed by the second week of April (weather depending). Due to concerns about traffic interfering with paving, paving operations will occur between 6PM and 6AM from March 31st through April 4th. This coincides with Henrico County Public School’s Spring break.
The intersection of Shady Grove Road and Old Nuckols Road will be closed from 3/31-4/5. Please see the detour plan:

A public information meeting was held on February 15, 2023, at the Short Pump Middle School and the public comment period closed on March 2nd.
The County has reviewed public feedback and revised the scope of the project to include improvements to Shady Grove Road south of Old Nuckols Road, specifically addressing the “S” curve to the north of Prescott Place.
