Project Description:

The County of Henrico will be constructing accommodations to improve pedestrian and vehicular infrastructure as well as safety and accessibility at the intersection. The following improvements will be constructed:

  • Third through lane on Glenside Drive southbound
  • Widening of Glenside Drive northbound to accommodate a second dedicated left-turn and a second dedicated through lane
  • Sidewalk along the west side of Glenside Drive
  • Pedestrian crossings with curb ramps, marked crossings, and pedestrian signals on the west and north legs of the intersection
  • Bus shelter on the east side of W. Broad Street just north of Glenside Drive

Estimated schedule: 

  • Design is underway.
  • Right-of-way acquisition is anticipated to begin in 2027.
  • Utility relocation is anticipated to begin in 2028.
  • Advertisement for constructed is anticipated for 2028.
  • Construction is anticipated to begin in 2028.
