Homeowner Rehabilitation and Repair Assistance
Henrico County has two programs that assist current homeowners with improvements to their homes with both minor and emergency repairs and moderate rehabilitation. These programs are available to qualifying low-to-moderate income homeowners. The Emergency and Minor Housing Repair Program provides for the repair or replacement of exterior or interior items that pose an imminent threat to the health and/or safety of persons. The cost of repairs can go up to $10,000.
The Moderate Housing Rehabilitation Program enhances the long-term livability of homes by undertaking substantial home improvements addressing health and safety issues as well as complete system upgrades, energy efficiency, and adaptability improvements. Improvements up $45,000 are available. All improvements bring the homes up to current HUD property standards. To be eligible for this program, homeowners must be elderly (62 or over) or disabled and must be of low or moderate income.
