Rabies Vaccination for Domestic Animals
Under Virginia law, all domestic cats and dogs four months of age and older must be vaccinated for rabies. For your convenience, the Henrico Police Animal Protection Unit conducts four rabies clinics annually. View the Rabies Vaccination Clinic schedule.
Fees
$20.00 (CASH ONLY) A rabies tag and certificate of inoculation are included. Pets from all localities are welcome. Cats must be in carriers.
Henrico County also issues lifetime dog licenses for $10. The license is required no later than 30 days after a dog has reached the age of four months, or not later than 30 days after an owner acquired a dog four months of age or older. The license is good for the life of the dog and is valid as long as the dog’s owner resides in the County and the dog’s rabies vaccination is kept current.
