Pop-up Adoption Event

The Henrico Police Animal Shelter is nearly at full capacity and will host an outdoor pop-up adoption event for dogs and cats (rain or shine).

Community members are invited to meet pets available for adoption and help future animals in need of care. Henrico Humane Society and Ring Dog Rescue have sponsored the vaccines and spay/neuter procedures for all adoptable dogs, and many pets are ready to go home with their adopters the same day.

“There are several pets who have been under our care since January,” said shelter manager Pamela Bridgmon. “Our shelter is critically full, especially for dogs. Every adoption is a double win for us; a pet goes home with their new family, and we gain space to support incoming lost and stray animals.”

Adopters must be 18 or older, but are not required to be Henrico County residents. Adopters will need to have a valid photo ID and pay a $10 fee.
