Tree ID & Canopy Assessment – Osborne Landing & Clark Palmore House
July 9, 2026 at 8:00 am - 10:30 am

Join Capital Trees and Henrico County’s Sustainability Division to analyze our local tree canopy and inventory trees at parks across the County!
Targeted towards Henrico County staff and summer interns, this opportunity is also open to community members eager to contribute to local environmental efforts. Practice essential skills in tree and invasive species identification while assisting with site-specific canopy assessments and inventory work within Henrico County parks. This work supports the ongoing reforestation program and tree canopy expansion initiatives highlighted by both Henrico County and Capital Trees. This is a fantastic chance to play an active role in understanding and improving our greenspaces!
We will spend ~2.5 hours (8am-10:30am) for each session working in teams to assess and document the current overall condition of native species at multiple Henrico County Parks. Sign up here: CFengage | Tree Inventory and Canopy Assessments with Capital Trees and Henrico Co
***These opportunities are intended for those volunteers and Henrico County summer interns who’ve attended one of the Tree Identification and Canopy Assessment Training Courses previously offered.
