Ben Sheppard
Ben A. Sheppard has served as the director of the Department of Communications since 2018.
He joined the department in 2004 as a media specialist and later served as a senior television producer/director and a television and media services manager. He was promoted to assistant director in 2016.
Communications is responsible for promoting public awareness and understanding of Henrico’s government programs, services, activities and policies. The department also provides public relations and information, as well as audio-visual technology support for the county and its agencies.
Sheppard earned a Bachelor of Arts in communication from Virginia Tech.
