Fairfield meeting April 17 to highlight Maymont, Police and Fire updates

Henrico County Board of Supervisors Chairman and Fairfield District Supervisor Frank J. Thornton will hold a Fairfield Constituent Meeting on Monday, April 17 to discuss the history of Maymont and programs of the Police and Fire divisions.

Thornton, who serves as Henrico’s representative on the Maymont Foundation Board of Directors, will be joined by Krista Weatherford, the foundation’s director of programming and community engagement. They will discuss how the opulence of the Gilded Age and repression of the Jim Crow era intersected at the 100-acre riverfront estate, which is now a Richmond park managed by the foundation. Representatives of the Police Division and Division of Fire will provide updates on the agencies’ work throughout the county.

The meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. at the Eastern Henrico Recreation Center, 1440 N. Laburnum Ave.
