UPDATE: Jan. 9, 10:40 p.m.
Public Utilities completed the first round of required tests needed to lift the boil advisory. The chlorine tests were a success. The bacteriological test results will not be available until Friday evening. The next water sample will be pulled from the system Friday at 10 a.m. and will undergo the same round of testing. If all goes well, officials are hopeful the boil advisory will be able to be lifted Saturday morning.
As a reminder, all Henrico residents are under a boil water advisory until further notice. As the impacted customers begin to see their water pressure increase, they are advised to boil any water intended for consumption or cooking before use. It is safe to use the water for showering or bathing, however, residents should take care to ensure no water enters their mouths. For more information on safe practices, visit the Virginia Department of Health website.
