Park Notice: Court Renovations
*June 6 Update* – Tiger courts are almost done! On Sat, June 7, work will begin on the Wildcat courts. All 8 courts will be under renovation, to complete the project faster. We anticipate the work taking approx. one week.
This renovation will repair the cracked surfaces, resurface the courts, and add new windscreens and pickleball paddle holders.
This park features a pickleball complex with 24 courts, multi-purpose athletic fields, picnic facilities, and an accessible & inclusive playground.
Springfield Schoolhouse
Springfield Schoolhouse was built around 1920 to serve the African American students in the Short Pump Community until the early 1950s. It was one of the many elementary schools that Virginia Randolph supervised. In 2011, the county saved the building from demolition and moved it to its current home in Pouncey Tract Park.
The building now offers useable space for the community to reserve for smaller meetings or programs with up to 12 people. The renovated interior includes details of the early 20th century schoolhouse and interior exhibit panels that share the history of the school and community.
Hours of Operation
Open daily from dawn to dusk.
