Food Waste Awareness Week

September 28th through October 4th is food waste prevention week in 2026! Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality’s Crack Down on Food Waste campaign aims to help Virginians learn how they can reduce wasted food in their homes and communities.

Solar Access Henrico Receives NACo Achievement Award

Henrico County’s Solar Access Henrico program was recently awarded an Achievement Award from the National Association of Counties. The program provided over 200 households with solar energy at no cost to the homeowners.

Fall 2026 Energy Fair

The Sustainability Division will be hosting its Fall 2026 Energy Fair on August 27th from 11:00am-1:00pm in the Administration Building’s courtyard at the Western Government Center (4301 E. Parham Road).

Regional Environmental Surveys from DEQ, CVWMA, and PlanRVA

Virginia’s Department of Environmental Quality, CVWMA, and PlanRVA have released surveys to learn more about residents’ attitudes and habits surrounding food waste, composting, and recycling.

2026 SRAC Committee Appointed by Board of Supervisors
