Varina meetings in October to highlight proposed Prime Agriculture/Rural Conservation land-use designation, New Market Heights Trail
Varina District Supervisor Tyrone E. Nelson will host the meetings Oct. 20, 23 and 27 to discuss a proposed land-use designation to help preserve farmland and other rural properties in Henrico County. The Prime Agriculture/Rural Conservation category is being considered as part of the county’s 2045 comprehensive plan. Varina community meeting to include discussion of Title V air permits with Department of Environmental Quality
Varina District Supervisor Tyrone E. Nelson will host a Varina Community Meeting on Thursday, June 26 for a discussion of Title V air permits with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. The permits are designed to improve compliance with the federal Clean Air Act by clarifying what source facilities must do to control air pollution, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
The meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. at Varina Area Library, 1875 New Market Road. Residents may participate in person or virtually via Webex. To participate by phone, dial 1-415-655-0002 and enter the access code 2305 442 6411 and, if prompted, the passcode 56584236.

‘A project that bridges … communities’: Henrico celebrates Creighton Road improvements
Wide and realigned, the new Creighton Road in eastern Henrico County is complete.
County officials celebrated the roughly $16 million project with a ribbon-cutting event Dec. 19. The new road is a common thoroughfare for motorists but also acts as the dividing line between the Fairfield and Varina districts.
