NEW Residential One- and Two- Family Dwellings (flat fee)
$680.00 + $13.60 (2% state levy) = $693.60 (total permit fee).

EXISTING Residential One- and Two- Family Dwellings
Additions/alterations, including decks, garages, swimming pools, demolition, and other appurtenances:
$100 for the first $5,000 (based on c),
+ $6 per additional $1,000 or fraction thereof, + 2% state levy.
This fee will not exceed $693.60, the total fee and levy for a new dwelling.

Inspection Surcharge (effective July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025)
This fee applies for each inspection that exceeds the average total number of inspections for new residential one- and two- family dwellings.
Average number of inspections: 32
Average number of inspections with fire suppression system: 40
Average number of inspections for elevator: 2

Plan Amendments and Re-Review Fee
A $25 fee will be applied to the third and any subsequent reviews of submittals due to plan deficiencies or building permit amendments.
Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO)
A $25 fee will be applied upon TCO issuance and TCO renewals.
Current state levy for permits is 2%
This statewide levy is required on all permits in accordance with Section 107.2 of the Virginia Uniform Statewide Building Code (VUSBC) and is collected to support operations and programs of the Virginia Building Code Academy for training and certification of local code enforcement personnel.
