The Treasury Division is responsible for issuing tax bills and for collecting taxes and other amounts due to Henrico County. Real estate and personal property taxes are billed in two (2) installments in accordance with Henrico County Code §20-108. The Vehicle License tax is billed annually and appears on the tax bill when due. The tax bill reflects both the amount currently due and the total annual tax liability. The first installment is due on or before June 5th. The second installment is due on or before December 5th. Henrico County prorates vehicle and trailer personal property taxes based on the number of months the vehicle is owned and registered in Henrico County. Treasury has two locations to assist citizens: 4301 E. Parham Road and 3820 Nine Mile Road. Office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, excluding holidays. Treasury Division functions include:
- Billing real estate and personal property taxes and vehicle licenses
- Accepting payments for taxes, vehicle licenses, utility bills, parking tickets, dog licenses, and other miscellaneous payments
- Collecting delinquent real estate and personal property taxes
- Selling dog licenses
- Selling landfill coupons
- Assisting taxpayers with questions concerning their bills
- Processing estimated tax payments for the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Administering the Personal Property Tax Relief Act
