Pollination Pilot Area

Our Mission

To be better environmental stewards, Henrico County Department of Public Works is taking on a multi-year study of pollination areas. These pollinator enhancement areas were designated to:

  • Reduce mowing cost
  • Decrease emissions
  • Eliminate noise
  • Increase native plant life
  • Support local wildlife
  • Enhance roadside attractiveness

Moving Forward

There are currently 5 pilot sites designated for this initial study. Sites will be monitored for wildlife and plant growth for the duration of the study. Surveillance will also include management of non-native plants and animals..

We are committed to improving Henrico County and to being the very best environmental stewards we can be!
