Residential Drop – off Composting

HEART, Keep Henrico Beautiful, CVWMA and Nope Compost Company are collaborating to offer residents an opportunity to drop off food scraps and other certified compostable materials at both Henrico public use areas. This free program reduces the amount of waste in landfills and is better for the environment.

February 2026 Impact Report

In February, CVWMA Henrico diverted 1,202 pounds of food scraps and organic material from landfills.

The estimated emissions saved are equal to:

  • 786 net pounds of CO2
  • 911 miles driven by passenger cars
  • 6 tree seedlings grown over ten years
  • 28,738 smartphones charged

Year-to-Date: 2,388 lbs. diverted
