Late Police Capt. Don Lambert honored with new road – Lambert Way

Road will link new portion of Woodman with Glover Park

A ½-mile road planned for construction next year will be named Lambert Way in honor of the life and service of the late Donald L. Lambert Jr., a captain with the Henrico County Police Division who was killed in a hit-and-run crash early this year.

Board of Supervisors Chairman Dan Schmitt announced the naming in a ceremony Wednesday along where Woodman Road is being extended northeastward from Greenwood Road.

Supervisor Dan Schmitt invites Brookland input on potential police review board

Constituents encouraged to sign up for virtual meeting Aug. 20

Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman and Brookland District Supervisor Dan Schmitt will hold a virtual Constituent Conversations meeting Thursday, Aug. 20 to receive input on Henrico County’s potential creation of a civilian review board for the Police Division.

Pedestrian safety message launches for region

As vehicle crashes involving pedestrians and bicyclists continue to occur with alarming frequency, law enforcement agencies in the Richmond region and other partners are urging travelers to take simple precautions and to avoid distractions, such as mobile phones and headphones.

A video public service announcement with tips for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists is being shared by the police departments or sheriff’s offices of Chesterfield County, Hanover County, Henrico County and the City of Richmond as well as by the Virginia State Police and Virginia Department of Transportation.
