HEART Community Impact Grants 2026 Application Deadline Nears

Applications for the 2026 HEART Community Impact Grants are due WEDNESDAY, Nov. 26.
The Henrico Environmental Action Resource Team (HEART) Community Impact Grants Program supports nonprofit community organizations seeking funding for environmentally focused service projects. Organizations based in the city of Richmond and surrounding counties are eligible to apply, but the project must take place in and/or serve residents of Henrico County.

Recipients of the first round of funding completed projects such as creating a community garden in a local neighborhood, hosting an outdoor adventure day, planting native and pollinator-friendly species, and more. Check out the HEART podcast to hear more from the 2025 recipients: Community Impact Grants Podcast Episode.

The maximum funding amount is $5,000. Grant funds can be used to cover a whole project or be supplemental to other funding sources for a project. If your organization has interest in applying but is not familiar with the needs of Henrico residents, feel free to reach out to local groups for ideas or potential collaboration.

All 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations are eligible to apply, and we strive to ensure the application process is simple and straightforward. Note: Please ensure your organization is in good standing with the Virginia State Corporation Commission (SCC) and IRS.
The application form can be found here: 2026 Community Impact Grants Application. The application window will close on Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Recipients will be notified in February.
